This course aims to develop an integrated and critically aware understanding of management and organisations alongside the necessary skills to prepare your employees for effective roles within your organisation.

Who can do the Operations Manager Apprenticeship?

The Operations Manager Apprenticeship is designed for someone who is accountable to a more senior manager or business owner and is someone who:

• Likely to manage a team and/ or project
• Responsible for achieving operational or departmental objectives as part of the delivery of their organisation’s strategy

How does the Apprenticeship levy funding work?

The levy was introduced as part of the government’s initiative to increase the quality and quantity of apprenticeships across the country.

Both levy-paying and non-levy-paying employers can access the system:

Levy-paying employers

All employers with a payroll of over £3 million pay 0.5% of their payroll into the levy, the government then adds 10% to each monthly levy payment.

The levy payment is held in a digital account, set up at the Apprenticeship Service.

The costs are automatically deducted from the account and paid to the University monthly.

All payments must be made within two years.

Non-levy-paying employers

If you are a non-levy paying SME, there is funding support that will enable your employees to join our Apprenticeship programme.

The government will pay 95% of the programme and there is also added support for the remaining 5%.

What are the employer's responsibilities?

As an employer, there are obligations and responsibilities you must adhere to when you have an employee on an Apprenticeship programme:

• Meet the minimum age-based pay for apprentices
• Allow a minimum of 20% of employees’ time at work to be dedicated to off-the-job training
• Provide a genuine job for your employee for the duration of the Apprenticeship programme
• Ensure mandatory documents are signed and up to date for each apprentice throughout the Apprenticeship programme
