James is an Electronic Engineering BEng(Hons) student. He chose the University for its facilities and placement opportunities, which he feels can make students more employable. He likes the teaching and the friendly and approachable lecturers, as well as the facilities such as the new systems lab and 3D printers. James ran his own business during his placement year which was based in the Duke of York Entrepreneur Centre on campus and says it was great for networking and attending seminars.
Hayley is studying for a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. She chose Huddersfield because it is a friendly town where you get to meet lots of people and also because of the placement opportunities. She feels the facilities are fantastic and also enjoys the variety of work involved with her course. Hayley finds the tutors to be extremely supportive and they are always available to ask questions and get advice. The course has given her the confidence and skills for her future career.

Philippa is studying for a BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. She appreciates the supportive, friendly staff, and how their industry experience shows how her studies will be applied in the real world. Her placement taught her better time management so she now takes part in the University orchestra and local music groups alongside her studies.
