During your time at Huddersfield, whether you like it or not you will end up spending a lot of time in the Library – check out this film by Huddersfield students and see how much fun you can have trying to find a book!

What makes
the Library special?

Summon

Summon

Summon is our online Library search engine – access it anywhere, anytime. Type in any keyword or phrase and it will list all the books, journals and any peer reviews that mention your keyword. It then tells you if they’re available, where to find them and lets you reserve them. Some are available online and you can even access Summon at home.

With dedicated study pods and rooms that you can reserve, there’s always somewhere for you to meet up with friends to go over a bit of theory or work on a collaborative project. There are also quiet rooms where you can really concentrate, spread your books out and work in peace on a full force study day.

Not only is the library a quiet study zone, there are also specific areas that are for silent study only. If it is too noisy for any reason, anywhere in the library, simply text NOISE and the floor that you’re on to a special number or email
library.noise @hud.ac.uk and a warden will come to your assistance.

Additional services: The library also has printing, copying and binding facilities, as well as a dedicated trend hub for art students.
