CeReNeM has outstanding facilities such as the HISS and SPIRAL studios; curates a programme of concerts with artists and ensembles in residence including Apartment House, Bozzini Quartet and the ELISION Ensemble; has partnerships with Electric Spring and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the British Music Collection and Sound & Music; publishes HCR CDs, Divergence Press and the CeReNeM Journal; and directs 'Speculations in Sound', a programme of international lectures, symposia and publications in collaboration with, amongst others, Université de Montréal (CIRMMT), Queens College Belfast (SARC), IRCAM Paris, NoTAM, National University of Singapore (Yong Siew Toh Conservatory & IDMI), Harvard University, and Columbia University.
CeReNeM is host to the Speculations in Sound International Research Network
CeReNeM aims to operate within a highly international framework supporting our staff and students to participate in a global knowledge community. Our work gains international visibility and impact through:
- Strategic partnerships with outstanding studios, other research centres and key industry and cultural partners
- Research exchange schemes that facilitate student and staff mobility with a particular focus on early career researcher development
- Public engagement in the form of festivals, residencies and a robust publications programme
Our research community at CeReNeM comprises 10 full-time staff, a number of funded research and honorary fellows, approximately fifty postgraduate students and several distinguished artists in residence. Our vibrant community of staff and postgraduate students includes members from throughout the UK, Ireland, the United States, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Austria, Greece, Chile, France, Spain, Canada and Australia.
