We are collaborating with the accelerator group on the simulation of high current proton beams, with a PhD student (Anna Kolano) being seconded there to work on the project, under joint supervision from Huddersfield and PSI. We also use the neutron beams for analyses.
This is a research institute with interests very similar to ours. One of our research students (Roxana Rata) worked there on placement, and we are now hoping to sign an MoU to encourage further developments.
We are in discussion with the project to couple an accelerator to a reactor, and hope to become more actively involved in the future.
Professor Bob Cywinski is on the advisory board
We are in discussion with the Korean MHD, with a view to their funding some work with us in the future.
the US- MURI is growing strong, looking for extra support from then for our work.
With our focus on applications, we are engaged with a number of industrial companies. In particulare:
We have a working partnership with Siemens plc.
We are collaborating closely with the Particle Accelerator Corporation of America, in the design of novel accelerators.
We use the neutron beams at ISIS for many of our analyses.
We work with the Daresbury Laboratory acceleratir group, and with the Hartree Centre
We play a strong role in the ThorEA www.thorea.org organisation to encourage the construction of Thorium-fuelled ADSRs.
We are involved in the Institute of Physics Particles and Beams group, through committee membership and organisation of meetings.
