Verifications of awards from 2000 onwards

These verifications are carried out by Qualification check.  Please visit https://www.qualificationcheck.com to register your details, and make an online verification request (charges apply). 

Helpful tips

Using a degree certificate as the basis of your enquiry improves the chances of getting your enquiry automatically verified; otherwise your enquiry will be forwarded onto the team at the University of Huddersfield for manual verification, with a five working day turnaround time. 

Please note this service is only for third parties, and there is a £12 fee per enquiry. 

Verifications of awards prior to 2000 

These verifications are provided by the University.  Please visit the University’s online store http://www.store.hud.ac.uk.  Once in the store you will need to provide the following information, so it is useful if you have it to hand:

  • The individual’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Course
  • Qualification
  • Year of award

Please not this service is only for third parties and there is a £10 fee per enquiry.  There is a five working day turnaround time for this service, however please note at busy times this may take longer.  For older awards an archive search may be required which can take longer to complete.  We will not provide any information to non-corporate email addresses. 

Non-commercial organisations

To obtain a verification for a former student regardless of the year the award was conferred you will need to send an email to awards@hud.ac.uk.   It is essential you include the following:

  • The written signed permission of the student to disclose information held about them
  • The full name of the student at the time of study (if different to their current name)
  • The student’s date of birth
  • The award title and classification (if applicable) claimed by the student
  • The date the award was conferred

Please note we will not provide any information to non-corporate email addresses.  There is no charge for this service.  There is a five working day turnaround time for this service, however at busy times this may take longer. 

Verification of a certificate and/or transcript

If you wish to verify the authenticity of a certificate and/or transcript, a good quality scanned copy can be emailed to awards@hud.ac.uk. There is no charge for this, but we will only provide verification of the certificate/transcript by stamping and signing the scan and returning it to you.  No other details relating to the award will be provided. 

Former Students

If you would like a letter confirming your award please follow the link below to confirmatin letters http://www.hud.ac.uk/registry/confirmationletters/.

If you have any outstanding payments owed to the University in relation to a completed award no official documents can be produced. Once any debt is cleared you should contact the awards team who will then produce your documents.
