Qualifications: BSc Hons, MSc, FHEA

In October 2014 Kathryn was appointed Lecturer in Criminology, having initially joined the University of Huddersfield in 2009 as a Research Assistant at the Applied Criminology Centre (ACC). Prior to joining the University, Kathryn was awarded a first class honours degree in BSc Psychology and an MSc in Forensic Psychology at Coventry University. Kathryn also worked for the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) as a Measuring the Quality of Prison Life (MQPL) Research Assistant.

Kathryn has been involved in a number of research projects at the University, including the EU FP7 funded study ‘Children of Prisoners, Interventions and Mitigations to Strengthen Mental Health’ (COPING) and evaluations of the ‘National Offenders’ Families Helpline’ and the ‘Youth Justice Board’s Preventing Violent Extremism Programme’.

Kathryn is currently undertaking a part-time PhD in the field of Criminal Psychology, and is using advanced statistical techniques to model the relationship between psychopathy, criminal social identity and suicide among prisoner populations.
