Researchers Night 2017

16:00 - 21:00, 29 September 2017

At University of Huddersfield

The European Researchers' Night takes place every year all over Europe on the last Friday of September.

So what is it about..?

What is European Researchers’ Night?

European Researchers’ Night is a European Commission initiative which takes place in more than 300 cities across Europe in September every year.

Why do we have European Researchers’ Night?

It gives the public a chance to meet researchers and find out about their latest discoveries through a range of exciting activities and interactive workshops.

Where will this event be taking place?

The University of Huddersfield has secured funding to host the event. The entire university campus will be used as the venue, the majority of the activities are taking place inside so can be enjoyed whatever the weather.

What does the night include?

There’s something for everyone to get involved with ranging from hands-on experiments, science shows, learning activities for children, guided visits of research labs, science quizzes, competitions and much more.

Why should I get involved?

This is a valuable opportunity to gain an insight into what researchers do and understand the impact it has on our day-to-day lives. Not to mention the amazing prizes to be won through our competitions and giveaways on the night!

What’s happening elsewhere?

Visit the European Commission website to find out what is happening across the rest of the UK and Europe. Alternatively, you can check out their Facebook Page.
