Degree apprenticeships are government backed programmes, run in collaboration with the University and employers in a range of industries and sectors. Here at Huddersfield a Senior Leaders Master’s Degree Apprenticeship follows the Master of Business Administration (MBA) curriculum.
This course is ideal if you’re a manager keen to develop your workforce, aimed at those already employed with substantial managerial experience, preparing them for transitioning into more senior management roles and boosting performance and productivity in your industry. The course offers a flexible approach to learning that allows learners to work around your organisations’ commitments.
Huddersfield Business School is located in the town centre allowing easy access from public transport (the bus and rail stations are no more than 15-20 minutes’ walk away) and the major road and motorway networks across West Yorkshire. The SLMDA programme takes 2 years to complete, during which time the learner combines a full-time job with part-time study, through weekly attendance by day release.
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) for Senior Leader Master’s Degree Apprenticeship (SLMDA) is designed to combine a comprehensive business education set into a work-based context. Degree Apprenticeships have to meet the standards of a government-approved provider (standard holder) which, for this course, is the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). The course is linked to the role of the apprentice rather than directly to first degrees.
Enhance your organisational performance and develop interpersonal excellence in leading people and developing collaborative relationships through knowledge and skills in leadership and management. The course aims to develop an integrated and critically aware understanding of management and organisations alongside necessary skills to prepare you for effective roles within your organisation. The course also enables you to develop professional and personal excellence through a dedicated module, Professional and Personal Excellence (PROPEL).
Learners must be currently employed; individual employers will set the selection criteria for their Apprenticeships. This may involve previous management experience, having undertaken an apprenticeship or qualifications. In addition, applicants must hold English and Mathematics at level 2 (GCSE grade C or above) or equivalent prior to the end point assessment.
Each learner is allocated a names personal tutor who will oversee your progress throughout the course. Your personal tutor will review your progress either on campus or at your place of work with you and your employer. This review will facilitate your self-development and should form part of your portfolio that will part of your end-point assessment.
Chartered Management Institute (CMI)
Huddersfield Business School is an official HE partner of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). The course is accredited with CMI, in addition, upon completion of the degree, learners will also receive a L7 qualification from CMI. In addition to this, all learners will be assessed against the standards for Chartered Fellow during the course of the programme.
