What are degree apprenticeships?

Degree apprenticeships are government backed programmes run in collaboration between the University and employers in a range of industries and sectors. Our aim is to combine academic theory with practical experience in order to develop the talent and specialist skills needed to help the UK economy thrive.

Degree apprenticeship programmes typically take four years to complete during which time the apprentice combines a full-time job with part-time study.

Entry requirements

Learners must be currently employed and have successfully met all internal criteria for application. In addition to this you must have English and Maths at L2.

Professional accreditation

Huddersfield Business School is an official HE partner of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Our Business and Management Professional suite is dual accredited with CMI. Upon completion of the degree, learners will also receive a L5 qualification from CMI. In addition to this all learners will be assessed against the standards for Chartered Manager during the course of the programme.

About the courses

We offer flexible learning opportunities through block delivery and/or weekly attendance by day release (subject to availability). Learners will benefit from an integrative approach that combines academic study with work-based development. Assessment builds upon this approach and may combine, for example, learning portfolios, team/individual presentations and work-based projects in addition to more traditional assessments such as essays.

Employers may also choose to focus on specific aspects of leadership and management, notably business management and finance, business management and HR or business and supply chain management through nominated routes.

At the end of the apprenticeship learners will achieve a full bachelor’s degree qualification.
