Once you've decided that you're interested please book a place, as all workshops need to be booked in advance.

Relaxation techniques

When: Wednesdays - 9, 16 and 23 May 2012

Time: 3.30pm-4.30pm

Where:   Queen Street South Annexe (Faith Centre - building 19 on the map) QSA/09

  • Learning different forms of relaxation techniques including: breathing, visualisation, self awareness and physical techniques. 
  • Recognising how you relax already, what works for you, and finding new methods.
  • Small group of up to 8 people with some sharing of experience.

Relaxation with yoga

When: Wednesdays for the next session, contact studenwellbeing@hud.ac.uk

Time: 1.00pm -2.15pm

Where: Queen Street South Annexe (Faith Centre - building 19 on the map) QSA/09

  • Hatha and kundalini yoga introductory classes.  All abilities welcome.
  • Stretching, relaxing and chanting all optional!  Bring a blanket to get comfy.
  • Sessions need to be booked in advance, but you can book any number or all sessions at the beginning, or book week by week.

Grow your confidence

When: This group is run each term (e-mail studentwellbeing@hud.ac.uk for dates) and over a series of four sessions.  As there is progression from session to session, you need to commit to all four.   

Time: 10.00am-12.00pm

  • Let go of anxiety and fear.
  • Become more self-aware.
  • Challenge negative thoughts and recognise existing strengths.

Pause for being

Time: 1.30pm-4.00pm

  • Mindfulness based meditation and movement.
  • Greater connection to mind, body and the world around you.
  • Deal more resourcefully with stress, low mood and anxiety.

Family bereavement group

When: Fridays.  For information about the next course, contact studentwellbeing@hud.ac.uk

Time:  2.30pm-4.00pm. 

Where: Queen Street South Annexe (Faith Centre - building 19 on the map) QSA/09

  • A group for those who have experienced close personal bereavement.
  • Explore your grief and find support in a small group.

Anger: the good, the bad and the ugly

Time: 1.30pm-4.00pm.
