Diversity and equal opportunities
Here at Huddersfield we celebrate diversity and strive for equality of opportunity.
The University of Huddersfield is an equal opportunities institution. We have developed several policies to ensure that we do not inadvertently exclude groups by our practice or our culture (perceived or real). We aim to create conditions where staff and students are treated solely on the basis of their merits, abilities and potential, regardless of gender, age, race, caste, class, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origins, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, family responsibility, trade union activity, political or religious belief, or age.
More information about our equal opportunities policies and the University Equal Opportunities Policy Statement can be found on our equal opportunities webpages.
The University Faith Centre
Whatever your faith you'll find the Faith Centre a relaxing and calming place to be and unwind. The Faith Centre is home to the Community Lounge - a vibrant, busy, welcoming space where you can meet new friends and enjoy free tea and coffee. It’s is a great place to explore and discuss spiritual issues with like-minded individuals. We have a range of worship, prayer and ablution facilities on campus. You can also take part in interfaith events or request a prayer from our chaplains. There are prayer rooms for all faiths, which can be used for individual and group prayer or faith group meetings.
It doesn’t matter what your beliefs are, everyone is welcome at the Faith Centre. You'll get a warm welcome and have the chance to chat with like-minded people. There are rooms for worship, meditation and prayer as well as ablution facilities. Find out more on the Faith Centre website.
