Library

Our library is open 24/7 with a huge volume of material available online. There’s no need to buy expensive books, and studying can be done at a time that’s right for you with all the information you need, instantly at your fingertips. And with Wi-Fi access throughout the campus, there’s really no excuse to be behind with your studies.

Computing

At Huddersfield, you’ll be able to access the very latest software, computers and training so that you can maximise the facilities on offer while you're studying with us. We have computers available throughout our libraries and most of our school buildings also have computer rooms. Access Wi-Fi across campus – so if you’ve got a laptop, tablet or smartphone you can hook up to the internet wherever you are. And, if you need to find a free desk based computer to write your latest assignment then you can check out the nearest available one by consulting our Uni App on your smartphone.

Team Hud  | Sport | Fitness | Health

Head down the spiral staircase in Student Central and you’ll find our sports, fitness and health service, Team Hud. Utilising the latest fitness equipment, Team Hud boasts over 80 stations of the Technogym ARTIS range. They also provide the facilities for our University Sports Teams, and host social sport sessions through the Get Active Programme. And with over 60 weekly fitness classes, and free table tennis and air hockey games, there really is something for everyone!

Memberships are designed with students in mind with various packages at competitive prices.

Team Hud’s facilities offer you: 

  • Two sports halls which accommodate eight badminton courts
  • Two squash courts
  • Two dance studios
  • Sports and Conditioning room
  • Physiotherapy treatment room
  • Fitness suite housing over 80 stations of the latest TechnoGym ARTIS range

Huddersfield University Health Centre

Registering with a Doctor is something we all mean to do when we move house yet only remember to do so when we need an appointment.  Rest assured, at the heart of our campus you’ll find the University Health Centre so you’re never far away from an appointment if you need one.  

The Podiatry Clinic

Our campus Podiatry Clinic has the very latest clinical facilities comprising of a multi-chaired clinic, orthotics lab, gait analysis and surgical theatre suite. It’s staffed by podiatry students under the supervision of academic staff who hold professional qualifications in podiatry. So, if you experience any foot or lower limb problems, be sure to visit.  

Student Central

In early 2014, we opened the doors to Student Central, our new learning and leisure centre. Meet friends and relax before lectures or grab a bite to eat and catch up with your reading list – Student Cental is the hub of the campus where you’ll find everything you need:

iPoint – meet our friendly team based in the entrance of Student Central who are on hand to answer any questions you may have. No question is too big or small and they are the team who are on-hand to direct you to our Student Support services.

Huddersfood - we have a number of cafes and restaurants on campus. Try a tasty and affordable pizza from the Pizza Bar or an espresso from Starbucks - there’s plenty of delicious cuisine on offer from across the globe, designed to tantalise the most discerning palate.

Students’ Union – head upstairs in Student Central and you’ll discover the Students’ Union, which offers advice on a range of matters and provides an opportunity to have your say on issues that are important to you. The Students’ Union is the home of student-led sports clubs, societies and volunteering opportunities – join a group or set up a new one – it’s a great way to make friends and learn new skills.

Team Hud | Sport | Fitness | Health – make your way down the colourful spiral staircase, where you’ll find our brand new state-of-the-art gym, fitted out with top-of-the-range equipment that allows you to monitor your progress and help you to meet your health goals. Discover our jam-packed health and fitness timetable with activities that will keep your body and mind healthy – and all of this at a not to be missed membership fee!

Careers Service and Job Shop – when you’re a student at Huddersfield, you’ll have access to a range of careers information, advice and guidance – even after you graduate! Our Careers Service, which is based in Student Central will support you to get into your dream industry and Job Shop allows you to search for the latest part time job vacancies and work experience that will flexibly fit around your studies.

Santander Bank - we have our very own branch on campus to make life at the University even easier and your money go further. Undertake transactions, access cash via ATMs and meet your very own Personal Banker, an expert in savings and current accounts.

Shop ‘til you drop – our shop, located in the entrance of Student Central, is stocked with snacks, stationery and even groceries if you’re running low. It’s staffed by students and all profits go back into the services we provide to make student life better
