Arranging alternative accommodation

If you want to do your own thing when you arrive, then Huddersfield Students’ Union has a dedicated, impartial service that puts students at the heart of everything they do. With HudLets you can compare the different halls, studios and houses all in one place.

All accommodation listed on the website is subject to a quality assessment and must achieve a minimum standard. All deposits are protected within a deposit protection scheme and at the point of booking you will only be asked to make an advance rent payment to secure the accommodation. If you have any dispute with a landlord, HudLets can help to resolve it.

This might be the first time you’ve booked accommodation and signed a contract, HudLets staff can talk you through the process and explain what everything means.

You can choose between individual studio apartments and en suite rooms in shared flats.

Saw Mill offers accommodation in flats consisting of 7-10 en suite bedrooms with a shared kitchen and living areas, and studios with their own kitchenette and living area.

Snow Island offers a range of en suite rooms in 3, 4, 5 and 6 bedroom flats with shared kitchen and living spaces.

Choosing between living at home or accommodation

For me making the decision to stay at home was an easy choice for my first year, but for the later years of my studies, I felt as though I'll be missing out on quite a bit by not making the transition.
