The Progression Module

Type of activity: Compact agreement  

Target audience: Year 1 of L3 programmes or Y12

Content

A formal programme of study which provides an opportunity for students to investigate progression routes – primarily to Higher Education.

The module comprises four units:

  • you and your career
  • exploring your future
  • managing your money
  • marketing yourself

Successful completion of the scheme earns the participant 30 UCAS points, recognised by the University of Huddersfield, Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds Trinity University College and Bradford College. 

Aim

To provide a structured and formalised HE preparation programme. 

Objectives

  • to encourage progression into Higher Education for all students
  • to support preparation for Higher Education with structured and formalised Higher Education information and guidance programme
  • to encourage informed choices and decisions by individuals
  • to provide formal recognition for the work undertaken by students in preparation for Higher Education

Duration: Full academic year (September to July).

Location: School/college (delivered by teachers/tutors).

Number of participants: Up to full Y12 cohort (minimum 10 students).
