Careers and Employability Service

We know you’re coming to university to find out more about your chosen subject, to meet new people and broaden your horizons, but we also know that the most important part of it all is preparing for your future.  That’s why we focus on preparing you for the real world that’s out there.

So while you’re here, and after you graduate, you can think of the Careers and Employability Service as a bit like your career fairy godmother, always there when you need us most. Although we’re sure we can do better than a measly three wishes.

You can opt for talking to us face to face or via our e-guidance or telephone guidance service if you’re unable to get into the University.

The best free advice available

While you’re studying we also offer career development workshops – which include input from employers.  And that’s the best, waffle free, tell it how it is advice available.

We also hold careers fairs which are a great way of making contacts and offer opportunities from local as well as national companies so you’ll need to put those in your diary too.

If there’s a vacancy for part-time, holiday work or a graduate opportunity, we’ll know about it and you’ll find it on our JobShop website.

And last but not least our Careers Information Library contains all the information, reference materials and interactive tools you need to help support you in your career planning.

Visit our website www.hud.ac.uk/careers to find out more about the services we offer to current students and recent graduates.
