There are libraries, then there’s the University of Huddersfield Library
For the next three or four years, whether you realise it or not, you WILL be spending a lot of time in the library. Making sure it’s going to have everything you need is important.
You don’t have to associate it with all things boring either, spending time in the library could be much more exciting than you think. The library at Huddersfield has some brilliant facilities, including everything you need to help you with your course, and the facilities are all really quick and simple to use. It’s like a second home as you’ll spend so much time in there.
Here are 10 facts you need to know:
The library is open 7 days a week and there is 24/7 access to computers, which is handy for when you have a deadline looming.
There are group study rooms where you can practice presentations or just study with friends.
You can access all the key online services when you’re off campus – like Summon for example, which you can use to search through the library resources.
There are online journals and books, ideal for those last minute changes to your assignments.
You can reserve books online.
The library facilities are really fast and easy to use, but if you should get stuck, the award winning staff are helpful and friendly.
Whatever course you’re taking, there’s a fl oor for you which has everything you need to help with your studies.
If the library is noisy you can simply text NOISE and the floor number you’re on and library wardens will come to your assistance.
Get competitive. Lemontree is the University’s own online game. Win points every time you use the library facilities and battle with your friends. It’s rather addictive.
There’s also a lovely Apple Mac suite.
