What are former students up to?

At Huddersfield we make sure our students are prepared for the world of work, which is why we have such a good record for graduate employment. Our 2010 survey showed that 92% of Huddersfield graduates were in work or further study six months after graduating – that’s higher than the national average. And 80% of those in work are in a graduate job, according to the Unistats website (unistats.direct.gov.uk).

  • Product Design BA(Hons)- Marcus now works as a Design Engineer for Dyson and is involved in designing new products, production, and travelling to China and Malaysia to help set up the production of new products or trouble shoot manufacturing issues. His major success with Dyson is the design and launch of the Dyson Airblade hand drier.
  • Simon graduated in Construction and Project Management (Top-up) BSc(Hons) in 2010 and he is now working as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator for SHN Joinery Ltd.
  • Since graduating in Marketing BA(Hons) in 1995, John has held a number of prestigious positions. Former Head of Marketing for LG Mobile and Global Marketing Director for Sony Ericsson, John is now the Global Head of Marketing for Ubuntu.
  • Shabana graduated in Medical Genetics BSc(Hons) in 2010 and is now MLA (Medical Laboratory Assistant) for the NHS Dudley Group of Hospitals.
  • With a degree in Midwifery Studies BSc(Hons) attained in 2004, Julia has become a Midwife at Calderdale Birth Centre (part of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust) and also returned as a PhD student at the University of Huddersfield.
  • Graduating in Sports Journalism and Media BA(Hons) in 2010, Nathan is now a Media Executive for Rugby Football League.
  • John-Paul graduated in Transport and Logisitics Management BSc(Hons) in 2006 and is now Operations Shift Manager, Tradeteam DHL.
  • Helen graduated in Medical Biochemistry BSc(Hons) in 2009 and is now Senior Medical Writer for Napp Pharmaceuticals Limited.
  • Neil graduated in Computing BSc(Hons) in 1999. He is now Skill Group Leader for Robotronics and Vetronics for Qinetiq.
  • Claire is a Theatre Studies and Media BA(Hons) graduate who is now Media and PR Officer for the Birmingham Royal Ballet.
  • John is a Marketing BA graduate from 2003 and now owns Elle Sports Marketing.
  • Chickaira is now Ladieswear Designer for J Barbour & Sons Ltd having graduated in Fashion Design with Manufacture & Marketing in 2005.
  • Julian graduated in Marketing BA in 1998 and is now Programme Director, BT Wholesale.
  • Graduating in Architecture BA in 1996, Simon is now the Director & Head of Transportation Group – AEDAS Dubai.
  • Graham graduated in Computing (Software Development) BSc(Hons) in 2001 and now works as a Consultant at Microsoft.
  • Graduating in Business Management BA(Hons) in 2004, Saleem is now the Senior Commercial & Contracts Relationship Manager and Special Advisor, Identity & Passport Service (Agency of Home Office).
  • Tamsynne graduated in Music BMus(Hons) in 1999. She is now the Production Manager of Wall To Wall Media Ltd.
  • Andy graduated in Education and Training BA in 2005. He is now Director of E4A Ltd.
  • Christina graduated in 2005 in Computer Control Systems BEng(Hons). She is currently Excitation Control System/Electrical Engineer for RWENpower.
  • Daniel graduated in Music BMus(Hons) in 2002 and he is now the Associate Organist at Liverpool Cathedral.
  • Adrian graduated in Youth and Community Work DipHE in 2005 and is now the Operations Manager for Pit Stop 2000 Limited.
  • Pat graduated in Interactive Multimedia Production MSc in 1999. He is now the Head of Product Development for Late Nite Labs Ltd.
  • Christopher graduated in English and History BA in 1999. He now works as a Technical Solutions Architect for the Parliamentary ICT.
  • Jonathan graduated in 1997 with a Masters in Architecture M.Arch and he is now an associate with Chalmers Gibbs Architects in the Cayman Islands.
  • Nilesh is a Sports Therapy BSc graduate, 2008 and he is the Physiotherapist for the Indian Basketball Junior Men’s Team.
  • Angus graduated in 1990 with a BA in Business Studies. He is now the Programme Leader for the Corporate and Executive Development Centre at the University of Northumbria.
  • Pierre graduated PGDL in 2002 and is now Legal Advisor in Customs and Transportation for the United States Navy.
  • Adel graduated with a PhD in Risk Management in International Business in 2006. He is now Assistant Professor in Risk Management at Al Hussein Bin Talal University in Jordan.
  • Michael graduated in History BA(Hons) in 2004 and now works as the Head of Religious Studies and Citizenship at Holloway School in Islington.
  • Sarah graduated in Legal Practice PgDip in 2010 and she now works for Ramsdens Solicitors as a Junior Legal Secretary.
  • John Greenhalgh – John received a PGCE Secondary Science in 2003 and is now Head of Level 2 Sciences at Notre Dame Sixth Form College.
