Supporting Peers Scheme

Supporting Peers Scheme logo, image of rhino and bird to denote recipricol arrangement Are you interested in getting together with colleagues from other Schools and finding out about alternative approaches to teaching and learning, reflecting on and questioning your own practice and dicsovering useful resources and tools?

Take a look at some examples of existing knowledge and requests for collaboration and input that we are currently dealing with on our Connections Notice Board.

The Teaching and Learning Institute has launched a new staff development scheme based on the principle that learning about colleagues’ approaches is a useful and effective way to

  • raise awareness of alternative approaches to teaching and learning;
  • reflect on and question your own practice and
  • discover useful resources and tools.

And these all have possibilities and opportunities to develop your own practice by experimenting with innovative/alternative approaches to teaching and learning including assessment and feedback practices.

This scheme is not about simply observing classroom practice and it is not about evaluating the practice of colleagues.

For more information, see the Supporting Peers Scheme leaflet

Who can take part?

Anyone involved in teaching and learning, support staff and academic staff as long as they are involved in some aspect of delivery or design/support of delivery.

I want to share my skills

We are looking for colleagues who are involved in teaching and learning activities and want to share their knowledge and experiences. Please get in touch with the Institute team. We aim to connect colleagues across the University and are keen to make the most of the valuable experience and expertise that we know exists at the University of Huddersfield.
