Huddersfield is famed for the number of bars it possesses in close proximity to the university campus. The main bar central is directly opposite the campus just off Queensgate.
There are however, a few more popular bars in the town centre, such as 'Revolution', 'The Camel Club', 'Tokyo' and 'Varsity'. The Student Union also has it's own bar, which offers cheap drinks; these are cheaper still if you purchase the Student Plus card during Induction week
The University of Huddersfield is home to many clubs and societies for you to get involved with during your time with us. From cricket to cheerleading, rugby to the rock and heavy metal society, we feel sure we will have something to suit everyone and if we don’t, you can always suggest something or start up your own club or society.
We have everything from the popular to the quirky and even if you don’t want to get involved and play a sport or join a society, it can always be fun to go and support your fellow students be it on the field, ice rink or playing a gig in a local pub or club. Our annual Varsity competition against Bradford University always brings out big crowds as we try to defeat them in every sporting discipline.
