CeReNeM's team comprises world-leading artists and academics who bring an interdisciplinary perspective to research into contemporary music performance, composition and new sonic media, publishing innovative work in the areas of interactive sound design and analysis, spatialisation, improvisation, new notations, musical perception and temporality, intercultural aesthetics and, music and the moving image.
CeReNeM's research partners include the renowned Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Electric Spring Festival and NOTAM (Oslo) as well as exchanges with IRCAM, Kunstuniversität Graz, ZKM and HSM Basel. Our resources include the HISS Project, SPIRAL and other outstanding studio facilities, the British Music Collection, HCR CD & DVD label, Divergence Press and CeReNeM Journal. These, together with our masterclass, seminar and concert series, enable the Centre to provide a vibrant platform for research, professional exchange and high quality postgraduate training.
