An understanding of the critical attributes of pharmaceutical materials that impact performance in the body is vital in the development of medicines that are both safe and effective. We undertake research and development in pharmaceutical technology and apply pharmaceutical principles to develop and understand the final dosage form of medicines. The development of novel drug delivery systems can offer safer, more convenient or more effective medical treatments. Our work encompasses different routes of administration (oral, pulmonary, mucosal and dermal), alongside material characterisation and processing.
Research interests encompass all aspects of the structure, characterisation and behaviour of dosage forms, spanning powder compaction, formulation design, and drug release.
