We have vast library facilities here at Huddersfield and offer all new students a library tour during their first weeks to ensure they can get to grips with the service quickly.
The Queensgate library is open seven days a week in term time – and computers are available 24 hours a day throughout most of the year, so you can study early or late if that suits you better.
You can check out books, and return them, using our electronic systems, and you can get help from our specialist library and IT staff. You can also keep a check on what you’ve got on loan via our app which you can download to your smartphone.
Dave Pattern, our Library Systems Manager won the title of Information Professional of the Year in the annual Information World Review awards in 2010. The former student, who has made some radical changes to the library, said: “I wanted to make the library catalogue system a bit more ‘Amazon-y’ to move it away from being like a stock inventory and become more of a useful tool for students.”
