About placements

Here at the University of Huddersfield we pride ourselves on the placement opportunities that we offer our students. In fact, Huddersfield is among the UK’s top 10 providers of ‘sandwich’ courses where our students undertake a 12 month paid work placement in industry or commerce.

The School of Computing and Engineering has a dedicated Placement Unit and each year we place up to 200 students in companies such as Microsoft, Nestle, Cummins and BMW, as well as a number of smaller local and regional businesses.

All of our full-time undergraduate courses offer the option of a placement and our experienced team of staff will help you find a placement in an industry that suits you.

Many of our students return from their placement with sponsorship and the offer of a permanent job from their host company, and this is reflected in our excellent graduate employability record. Last year 30% of our placement students were offered a graduate job by their placement provider!
