Research interests

Warren’s Doctorate was a dependency grid analysis in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the community. Current interests are in evaluating primary care diabetes services, prevention of type 2 diabetes and evaluation of psychosocial interventions in people with long-term conditions; evaluating clinical nursing research collaborations.

Current project development:

  • The Diabesity Research Project; a collaborative project with Dewsbury Hospital Diabetes Centre, to work with service users in developing and evaluating complex interventions to reduce adverse health outcomes in people with diabetes and obesity.
  • The Kirklees and Mid Yorkshire Diabetes Service Re-Design: a collaborative project with Kirklees and Mid Yorkshire NHS Trusts to deliver education and training to enable diabetes service delivery in primary care. Evaluation of this re-design has been carried and continues to be developed.
  • Tissue viability, wound care, leg ulcer management and diabetes; in collaboration with Dr Karen Ousey: the design of research/ evaluation studies to advance knowledge and practice in tissue viability.
