Biography

Before joining Huddersfield University in January 2010, I was employed for about 10 years in the nuclear industry for the UK Atomic Energy Authority and subsequently British Energy, as a mathematical and statistical modeller, and for about 5 years as a mathematics lecturer in Further Education.

I have a PhD in medical statistics from Cardiff University, a first degree in mathematics from the University of Sheffield and MSc and MPhil degrees in materials science from the University of Liverpool. I am a Chartered Mathematician (CMath MIMA) and am a member of the Royal Statistical Society with Graduate Statistician status (FRSS GradStat).

Research Degree Supervision

I am able to offer support in PhD projects based on quantitative research methods with a significant statistical component, particularly those involving similar techniques utilised in my own PhD, namely: parametric survival analysis, multivariate methods, multilevel analysis and the analysis of binary data. I can also offer support in more general statistical methods.
