Biography

Position: Professor of Criminal Psychology

Dan joined the University of Huddersfield in 2012 where he is now a Professor of Criminal Psychology and Director of Quantitative Research Methods Training Unit (https://www.hud.ac.uk/hhs/qrmtu/ ). He has extensive experience of working in forensic settings including maximum security prisons for recidivistic violent offenders. He is also an experienced research methodologist with special interest in Structural Equation Modelling, Latent Growth Modelling, Latent Class Analysis, Latent Profile Analysis, Propensity Score Analysis, Mediation and Moderation Analysis. Dan’s current research interests and publications include psychopathy, criminal social identity & criminal thinking styles, mental health in prisons, homicidal behaviour, recidivism & prisonization, and violence against women & children.
