The University of Huddersfield is committed to providing a healthy working environment for all of its employees. This web page includes information on training and links to other stress related resources that univesity staff can utilise.  You are also welcome to contact the Occupational Health Department to arrange a one to one consultation with one of the Occupational Health nursing advisers on a self referral basis.  You may also find that a consultation with one of the universities Dignity at Work advisers would be of benefit to you. Dignity at Work Policy and information.

The UK annual stress awareness day is to be held on Wednesday 7th November 2012. 

In house training on stress delivered by Occupational Health

Stress Awareness for all staff (2 hours) - provides individual awareness of the causes of stress and an understanding of coping strategies. Even if you don't feel under pressure or 'stressed', this training will help you identify 'stressors', those factors that can lead to stress, and how you can deal with them before they have a long-term effect on your health.

Stress Management (3 - 4 hours) - enables managers to assess risk and work with employees to effectively manage stress related problems.  The Stress Awareness course is briefly outlined during this session.  More information and bookings

Support for employees aimed at prevention & reduction of stress

Employees of the university are able to refer themselves and utilise the counselling services provided for students.
