Health Promotion

The Occupational Health Department at the University of Huddersfield aims to promote the health of staff.  The following sections relate to local sources of assistance and projects undertaken by members of the team as part of their Health@Work activities.

The occupational health team hosted a roadshow at Barnsley campus on the 6th March and an exhibition during the support staff conference on the 27th March 2013, both events were well attended. Subjects covered included mental health awareness, general wellbeing and information on the occupational health service.

No Smoking Day takes place annually.

Healthy Eating

Fruit and Vegetables contain key vitamins and minerals which are important for your health.

Eating more fruit and vegetables can help reduce the risk of some cancers, stroke and heart disease!!!

To get the maximum benefits it is important that you eat at least 5 different types of fruit and vegetables on a daily basis.

 broccoli,cabbages,citrus,fruits,corn,lemons,lettuces,peppers,produce,strawberries,tomatoes,vegetables,zucchinis,healthy,fresh

Waist to hip ratio is increasingly being used to determine if a person needs to loose weight and improve their diet and exercise levels.
