If you are bringing your family to Huddersfield we recommend that you:
1. Contact one of our Student Ambassadors who will be able to help and advise you as they will have been through the process themselves.

"Hello, I am currently studying at the University of Huddersfield and I am your Student Ambassador. If you would like to talk to me about studying at Huddersfield or living here, please get in touch!"
Luna Hassan, email lunahassan@hud.ac.uk
2. If you need to, check into a local hotel for a week or two while you explore Huddersfield and make a decision about what area you want your family to live in, where local schools are and what worship and prayer facilities are available locally.
We would recommend:

Briar Court Hotel which is convenient for the M62 Motorway connection from the Airport and a short taxi ride into the town centre and to the University.
A single room costs £61 per night or £385 for a week.
A three bed family room costs approximately £85 per night or £525 for a week.
A large family suite costs approximately £95 per night or £595 for a week.
Prices include breakfast and all taxes.
Call +44 1484 519902 or email info@briarcourthotel.co.uk and say that you are a University of Huddersfield Family Student.
3. Arrange to view a number of apartments and houses until you find one with which you are happy.
You are looking for a "let" or "lettings" or "rental property" and it is best to centre your search on the University postcode which is HD1 3DH.
You should expect to pay upto about £500 per month for a small three bedroom house, up to about £1,000 per month for a large four bedroom house or stylish apartment.
Some websites to look at are:
Rightmove website and adzuna website will search a number of local estate agents, or you can go to the website of individual agents:
4. When you have selected a property to rent you will be asked to sign a contract, which will usually be for at least 12 months, for which you will pay one month at a time in advance. You will also be asked for a refundable deposit of approximately one month's rent against any damage to the property while you are living there.
