The Institute for Materials, Medicines and Molecular Sciences is made up of academic and research staff in the Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences with complementary research interests. It provides a focus for research and a supportive environment for the research programmes within it. A major advantage of combining fields of research in the Institute is that all our programmes benefit from close intra- and inter-disciplinary collaboration, enabling broad-reaching and timely research projects.
The Director oversees the distribution of University funding and other resources within the Institute and the facilities available for members are excellent. Dedicated instrumentation and laboratory facilities are managed by the Institute and there is full integration with the Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences through which Departmental facilities are also available for Institute members and their students.
