ASIS (Applicant and Student Information System)

This training consists of courses/coaching on the student record and admissions system and for School administrative staff and admission tutors.

Information Technology

This training includes a wide range of taught courses, lunchtime workshops, drop-in sessions and special courses available on demand.

Finance and Agresso

This training includes skills training on the Finance system, Agresso, which is used for sales and purchase ordering. There are also a selection of courses on finance-related topics.

Health and Safety

This training includes a corporate programme of basic health and safety courses and more specialised training which is available on demand.

Induction Programme

Staff Development are pleased to launch a new induction programme which is a suite of courses from which a manager can select appropriate topics for a new member of staff's job role. A new booking form is available for managers to use to design a training programme for a new starter which may include courses from the induction programme and/or other courses we offer.

Leadership & Management Development

This training includes: mentoring for senior staff, a Management Forum, briefing sessions for managers in developing and managing people. The Leadership & Management Development Programme is under revision and will not be available until early 2005.

Personal and Professional Development

This training includes sessions which develop personal and professional skills for academic and support job roles.

Research

This training includes sessions designed to support academic staff and researchers through the various stages of undertaking academic and scholarly research.

Teaching and Learning

This section is primarily aimed at academic colleagues but also includes provision that will be useful for colleagues in academic related roles. It includes skills based programmes aligned to teaching and learning; information on networking for a and a section dedicated to teaching and learning technologies. The Staff Development Unit works closely with the Teaching & Learning institute in planning the elements that go into this section of the programme and which in turn support the delivery of the University Teaching and learning Strategy.

University Processes

This section provides colleagues with development opportunities relating to key central processes e.g. ASIS; Finance & Agresso and covers provision relating to equality and diversity in relation to both students and staff.
