How do I obtain my Campus ID card?

New and replacement cards are available from Library Services Reception Counter (Central Services Building, level 4). The service is available throughout the staffed opening times of the Learning Centre. New staff will be given an authorisation form to take to Library Services when they attend at Personnel Services on their first day at work. How do I join the University Library?

As long as you have been issued with a Staff Campus ID card (see the "How do I obtain my Campus ID card?" FAQ) you are automatically a borrowing member of the University Library. Further information is available from Lending Services.

How do I update my bank details for salary payments?

Form PL07a is available from the Payroll Office (ext 3899) or can be downloaded from the Forms to Download section of this site.

Can I use the Student's Union?

Yes, the Union is open to everyone. You may need your Staff Campus ID card for identification purposes.

How do I obtain a Car Parking Permit?

From 1 August 2004 new-style parking permits are being issued. These are available from the Library Services Reception Counter (Central Services Building, level 4). Further information is available from the Computing and Library Services web site.

Can I opt out of the pension scheme once I have joined?

You can opt out of the relevant pension scheme but you should ensure that you are fully aware of the financial consequences of doing so. You may also limit your opportunity to rejoin the scheme if your circumstances change again. We would suggest that you talk to your contact in Personnel or Payroll before making such a decision.

How do I update my Address or other Contact information?

Any changes to address, title, marital status or next of kin details should be brought to the attention of Personnel in order that the necessary details can be kept up to date. You can get in touch using the information on our contacts page. Please ensure that your School Office or Service are aware of these changes as well.

How do I get updates to my tax code?

The tax affairs of University staff are handled by the local office of the Inland Revenue. Their details can be found on our useful contacts page. Please ensure that you quote the relevant information indicated there to help Inland Revenue staff to answer your query.

I have a query about my pay - who should I contact?

Please contact the member of payroll staff who deals with your School or Service. More information is given on our contacts page.

Where do we get supplies of temporary staff timesheets?

A small supply of timesheets is issued to temporary APT&C staff with their contract of appointment. Further supplies can be obtained from Payroll.

Where can I get a copy of the salary scales?

Salary scales are listed in the intranet pages.

A list of first aiders by building/location is available here

How do I obtain an eyecare voucher / eye test under Display Screen Equipment regulations?

The University's scheme for display screen equipment 'users' and eye and eyesight tests involving a voucher system. More details are available from the Occupational Health Department - extension number 1800.
