Welcome to the Template Analysis website...
This site has been designed to serve as a resource for those using - or considering using - an approach to qualitative data analysis known as "template analysis". Whether you are a new to this kind of analysis, or are a veteran qualitative researcher looking to learn from others' experiences and share yours with them, I hope there will be something of use to you here. The site is designed to be of relevance to researchers from any social scientific discipline. Inevitably, though, the content will tend to reflect my own interests and experience, as a psychologist with a background in organizational and health psychology - but the more of you who contribute to it (for instance, via the Discussion Forum), the less it will be constrained by my personal obsessions.
Who am I?
I am currently a Professor in Applied Psychology, in the Department of Behavioural Sciences, University of Huddersfield, UK. I have written quite widely on innovation and change in organizations, and in recent years most of my empirical work has been in primary health care settings. However, my interests and publications are wider than this, including the experience of chronic illness, professional identities in health and social care, and paranormal beliefs and experiences. Theoretically, I am particularly interested in phenomenology and its implications for psychology. Drawing together these diverse strands is my long-standing methodological interest in qualitative approaches in psychology.
