Property services

The Property Services is located in the Estates Building.  Alan Johnson, the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities (Property Services), assisted by his section managers, Adrian Lee (Energy Manager) and Tim Hosker (Managing Surveyor), manages the following areas of operation: -

• Building Repairs & Refurbishments
• Day to Day maintenance - Combined Services Group (CSG)
• Energy management
• Mechanical and electrical services
• Sports Facilities
• Statutory compliance

The approach taken to project management is mainly dependant upon the size and nature of the project. Typically projects up to a value of c£1.5m are managed in-house by the Managing Surveyor/Energy Manager and their respective teams. Projects in excess of this are managed directly by the Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities (Property Services), in some instances with the assistance of an external project management consultancy.
