As an organisation using the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Disclosure service to assess applicants' suitability for positions of trust, the University complies fully with the CRB Code of Practice and undertakes to treat all applicants for positions fairly.  We will not discriminate unfairly against any subject of a Disclosure on the basis of conviction or other information revealed.

Under this Act some criminal convictions are ignored after a rehabilitation period.

The Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) was created as part of the Government’s Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS) to help prevent unsuitable people from working with children and vulnerable adults.
