What’s it about?

Youth and community work is both challenging and demanding but it’s also fun and the rewards can be immense. Youth workers encourage the educational and social development of young people, helping them become confident young adults. Youth workers can be found in diverse environments including youth offending teams, educational establishments or social services. You could even combine your qualification with a skill and run arts-based activities, community projects and sporting activities. The opportunities are endless. The qualification is endorsed by the National Youth Agency and it provides practical, real-world experience to improve your chances of employment.

Be in demand

Youth and Community at the University of Huddersfield had a 96% record of graduates finding employment or going on to further study within six months of graduation during 2009/10.
