A degree in science can lead to all sorts of things, some of which you may not have considered. Biology and nutrition impacts on almost every facet of our daily lives from the stuff you can see and eat to the things you can’t that can make us feel unwell. A chemistry degree can lead to a career in pharmaceutical research, consumer healthcare, perfumery or materials development. Many people think pharmacy is about dispensing medicines, however, it is a vast study area covering everything from aspects of chemistry to human biology and the study of how drugs affect the body and are used to combat disease. The great thing is our courses emphasise the practical aspects – real world applications which will help to shape your career ambitions.
The MPharm (Pharmacy) degree is the only degree in the UK that can be used to register and practise as a pharmacist.
Sciences at the University of Huddersfield had up to an 82.2% record of graduates finding employment or going on to further study within six months during 2009/10.
Scientific minds are highly sought after by employers across a range of professions and a degree in a science related subject can open the door to a wide variety of careers. For years, scientists have shaped the way we live our lives today and it is an exciting area to seek employment. We ensure that all our graduates leave us with the necessary skills and experience to be successful once you enter the world of work.
