The Music MMus is a flexible course that allows you to develop your musical skills. During the course you will produce a coherent body of work leading to a final major submission, usually either a major dissertation or a major recital. You can specialise in a number of different areas. These include, ‘Musicology’ which examines the history of musicology from medieval through to Baroque; ‘Critical Musicology’ which considers research relating to classical and popular music; ‘Performance’ which focuses on brass band performance, contemporary music, historical and 19th century performances as well as popular music.
