Our LLM suite of courses are designed to offer an academically challenging curriculum which will cater for law graduates,practising lawyers,practitioners in the commercial sector and those either working in or aspiring to work in international commerce.Practising lawyers may also benefit from the opportunity for further academic study or to enrol on individual LLM modules in order to enhance their CPD portfolio. The LLM can aid the development of transferable skills in our students, producing confident, responsible, and reflective graduates able to facilitate continuing professional development and life-long learning.
Our students are enabled to develop the critical, analytical and research skills required to effectively contribute to current academic concerns in a variety of legal contexts. This course will equip you with the knowledge, skills and attributes required of an academic, medical or legal professional. The course has been specifically developed to benefit those who intend to specialise in particular areas of the law; such as trade, local government or international commerce. Practitioners will find the modules invaluable in improving their specialist knowledge, whilst others can use the course to enhance their careers as specialist advisers in international corporations, NGOs, government and international institutions.
The LLM is recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for Continuing Professional Development purposes and will open up opportunities for career progression for graduates of this course.
You willtake part in a structured e-learning induction programme to prepareyou for the demands of the course.At the end of your first week, you will be invited to participate in an online webinar meeting. To facilitate this, you will be placed in small groups based on your country's time zone if possible.
The delivery of your modules will be through a series of structured units. Six for 15 credit modules and twelve for thirty credit modules. Each unit will direct you to appropriate academic work followed by tasks and/or questions designed to elicit critical discussion.
These methods of teaching, learning and assessment are designed to enable you to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies required by the course and reflects both the varying nature of the material studied and your different learning styles and strengths. You will be required to complete a dissertation on a subject of your choice and are assigned a dissertation supervisor.

The course is supported by the Blackboard Virtual Learning Environment which is constantly being reviewed to ensure that the course benefits from up to date technology. Your tutors have designed a range of e-learning activities to make sure that you develop as critical thinkers who will actively participate and take responsibility for your learning. The units are designed with specific tasks built in. You will be involved in the preparation of presentations and seminars. Interaction with your tutors and peers will be enhanced through the use of discussion boards, blogs and wikis via the Virtual Learning Environment.You can maintain contact with tutors through the use of announcements, blogs and e-mail.

Interim awards are available at Postgraduate Certificate level or Postgraduate Diploma level should you decide to exit the course early.
