Placement Unit

The University of Huddersfield's School of Computing and Engineering is recognised as being one of foremost providers of well qualified graduates in the UK.

We are committed to providing a professional learning experience and focus on preparing our students for careers in their chosen discipline. Our reputation for teaching quality, excellent research facilities and strong links with industry consistently enable us to produce the types of graduates that industry requires.

All our undergraduate courses include an optional year in industry and are supported by award winning Placement Unit who were recently voted the UKs "Best Placement Service" by students at the "Rate my Placement" awards 2011.

Each year we place up to 200 students in companies such as Microsoft, Nestle, Cummins and BMW, as well as a large number of smaller local and regional businesses.

Many of our students return from their placements with sponsorship and the offer of a permanent job from their host company, and this is reflected in our excellent graduate employability record.

We are one of the UK's top 10 providers of sandwich courses and student placements are a vitally important part of the University's overall mission in ensuring that our graduates are equipped with a good balance of knowledge, skills and experience.
