National Minimum Wage
Almost all UK workers have a legal right to a minimum level of pay, called the National Minimum Wage. The level is set by the government each year based on the recommendations of the independent Low Pay Commission (LPC) further information on the National Minimum Wage rates.

National Insurance Numbers for International and EU Students

To arrange to obtain your National Insurance Number telephone The National Insurance Number allocation Service on 0845 600 0643

  • If you are an EU student you will be invited to attend an interview, the date and time of which will be arranged during the phone call.
  • If you are an International Student you will be asked for your name and address, and required to complete an application form which will be sent to you.

Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks
If you are asked for a CRB check by an employer then it is the employer's responsibility to provide you with the CRB check application form. You will only need to apply for a CRB check as and when an employer asks you to do so. You can only apply for a CRB check via an employer.
