Being the best doesn’t just happen. It’s about always trying to improve and working hard. That’s what we do at the University of Huddersfield. And that’s reflected in our achievements:

  • In the top 10 in the UK for providers of sandwich courses/placements. In fact, our School of Computing and Engineering placement unit won “Best in the country” in 2010. Huddersfield offers the highest number of jobs to students and graduates of any university in the region. We run the most successful ‘Jobshop’ in Yorkshire and Humberside and topped the two most recent surveys in October 2010 and January 2011.
  • The University was the highest climber overall in The Guardian’s 2011 university League Table, which means we – and our students – are really going places.
  • We came second out of all UK universities for the excellence of our education courses and pharmacy and pharmacology in The Guardian’s University Guide to 2012 courses.
  • We have invested heavily in the development of our attractive town centre campus and facilities – nearly £80 million over the course of a decade with further substantial investment planned.
  • Huddersfield is home to several internationally recognised research groups such as the Centre for Precision Technology.
  • The town of Huddersfield was ranked seventh in a league table of UK ‘towns with a wealthy lifestyle on the cheap’, compiled by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
  • The University is 14th in the People and Planet Green League 2011, which means we have achieved a First Class Award in a Top 20 position for the fourth year running.
  • We have a multi-award winning Careers and Employability Service which has been awarded the ICT Initiative of the year at the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards 2011, also awarded two AGCAS (Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services) National Awards for Excellence including Overall Winner 2011 and the Technology Award 2011.
  • We have world-famous actor Sir Patrick Stewart as our Chancellor!

Whatever you want, whether it's great teaching, state-of-the-art facilities, superb surroundings, one of the friendliest places in the country or even just all of the above, choose the University of Huddersfield.
