The Advanced Machining Technology Group (AMTG) at the University of Huddersfield has established international reputation in precision machining researches, particularly in the abrasive machining area.

We specialise in precision machining technology, intelligent process monitoring and control, knowledge support systems, and design for precision manufacture. Our state-of-art precision manufacturing facilities possess the capability to create a surface at nanometre accuracy level, allowing us to provide consultant services to industrial customers in addition to leading the field in research.

Our main focus is to develop ultra-precision machining technology for ever increasing demands in medicine, aerospace and energy industrial applications.
